Let’s fly to Oviedo

I’ve had this thing with Asturias since I saw Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Therefore I didn’t hesitate long when I was invited to take a flight to Bilbao and offered a lift wherever I wanted in Northern Spain and Basque Country.

There we went then, to this autonomous region and it’s communal capital, Oviedo. Although we didn’t fly, like they do in the movie. We drove, along the coast of Bay of Biscay, through Cantabria, Santander, along the Camino de Santiago.  It was lovely.

Since my companion was is especially exited about Calatravawe he chose we’d stay in Ayre Hotel Oviedo, which proved to be a good pick even beyond the design (more than happy to get upgraded in to a huge suite after a misfortunate events by the hotel).

Moreover, when it comes to eating and drinking in Oviedo, Calle Gascona, aka el bulevar de la sidra is the unique place to be.

Ainutlaatuinen, kiehtova kokemus.

While in Scandic

Lately, my home away from home has been Scandic Hotel. In most cases, it’s reasonably prized (especially if and when you join the Scandic Friends) and more than ok in its prize range, what comes to service and other amenities.

One of the newest experiences for me was Scandic Tampere Station, and I have to stay that if I would need to visit Tampere more ofter, this would always be my place to stay. The hotel is new, modern and conveniently located, next to the main railway station, and the staff was the friendliest I have met in a while. Douze points!

On ollut työmatkoja ja vapaa-ajan matkoja. Ja Scandiceissa on yövytty. Kohtuuhintaista, siistiä ja useimmissa tapauksissa erinomaista palvelua useimmissa skandinavian suurimmissa kaupungeissa.

Viimeisin erityisen miellyttävä tuttavuus joukossa oli Scandic Tampere Station. Uusi, moderni ja erinomaisella, kätevällä paikalla rautatieaseman nurkilla. Palvelukin oli tällä visiitillä enemmän kuin ystävällistä. 12 pistettä ja jatkoon!

Hotels for business travelers

Note to all hotels everywhere: There is nothing worse than a weak hairdryer

Arguably the most important feature for working women and men alike is free, fast Wi-Fi. And working hairdryerEven though Virgin Hotels has found, or it thinks it has found, a niche, Jennifer Parker from Bloomberg writes that there’s not much substance behind being “female friendly” in the hotel business today. What a business traveler of today looks for is basic design functionality, service design and performance. Consulting Trip Advisor is also wise move, since it’s common practice among travelers.

What will define them is really good reviews on Trip Advisor.
